Consulting
I provide independent analytical and scientific support in environmental chemistry and data science. My background includes leading modelling and data initiatives within large international research projects, building reproducible analytical workflows, and preparing technical documentation for regulatory and scientific audiences.
I am available for project-based collaboration, technical review, and analytical support.
Chemical Data Evaluation
Organizing and interpreting complex chemical datasets requires both scientific judgement and methodological rigour. I develop clear decision frameworks for grouping or ranking substances based on hazard indicators, evaluate the quality and consistency of property data across sources, and identify gaps and uncertainties that could affect downstream conclusions.
My approach emphasizes transparency. I explain how conclusions were reached, which assumptions were made, and how sensitive results are to the input data. This is particularly valuable for teams preparing outputs for regulatory review or multi-stakeholder environments.
Statistical Modelling in R
I design statistical workflows that are reproducible, well-documented, and built to accommodate new data as projects evolve. My work spans Bayesian modelling, threshold-based classification approaches, and sensitivity and uncertainty analysis, with an emphasis on outputs that are interpretable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Deliverables are structured for review and reuse. Annotated code, clear visualizations, and written summaries are provided so that analytical decisions remain traceable.
Chemical Fate & Property Modelling
I have experience developing and testing predictive models used in both research and regulatory-relevant settings. This includes multimedia fate and partitioning models, persistence and mobility assessments, and the estimation and evaluation of partition coefficients such as KOA and KOC.
Work in this area often involves critically comparing model outputs against empirical data, assessing the suitability and reliability of particular models for specific chemical classes, and clearly communicating the limitations of predictive approaches.
Data Infrastructure & Workflow Design
Many research and regulatory projects accumulate chemical data from multiple, incompatible sources over time. I specialize in turning these fragmented datasets into structured, well-documented systems. I handle everything from initial cleaning and harmonization through to database design, multi-source integration, and reproducible reporting outputs in R Markdown or Quarto.
This work is well suited to teams transitioning from ad hoc data practices toward something more durable, or to projects that need a clean, auditable data foundation before analysis can begin in earnest.
Writing, Editing & Technical Documentation
With 15+ peer-reviewed publications and experience contributing to international research consortia, I am well positioned to support technical writing across a range of formats and audiences. I draft and edit technical reports, prepare regulatory-style documentation for models and data workflows, support manuscript preparation, and develop slide decks for scientific and policy contexts.
I am particularly experienced in writing that must bridge scientific and non-technical audiences, remaining accurate and understandable.
I am available for project-based collaboration, technical review, and analytical support. If you have a project in mind or would like to discuss whether my background is a good fit, I would be happy to speak with you.
